چکیده

Purpose In this experiment you will examine the effect of temperature on retention in isothermal gas chromatography, and use this information to determine the heat of solution of the solute in the stationary phase and to determine the temperature for optimum retention. You will also examine the effect of flow rate on efficiency and construct a van Deemter plot, and determine the flow rate for optimum efficiency.

An improved structure models to explain retention behavior of atmospheric nanoparticles

The quantitative structure-retention relationship (QSRR) of nanoparticles in roadside atmosphere against the comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography which was coupled to high-resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometry was studied. The genetic algorithm (GA) was employed to select the variables that resulted in the best-fitted models. After the variables were selected, the linear multi...

Retention modeling and resolution optimization for a group of N-phenylpyrazole derivatives in micellar electrokinetic chromatography using empirical and physicochemical models.

The optimization of the separation resolution for a group of N-phenylpyrazole derivatives in micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC) as a function of the separation buffer composition (surfactant and organic modifier concentration) has been performed. In order to achieve our purpose, the first step has been the prediction of the migration times of the electroosmotic flow (t(0)) and micell...

Coupled Gas Chromatography — Single Cell Recording: a New Technique for Use in the Analysis of Insect Pheromones

Gas Chromatography, Single Cell Recordings, Pheromones A method is described for the continuous biological monitoring of the effluent from a high resolution gas chromatographic column using a single cell recording technique. The system can be used to provide precise information on the retention times of compounds with olfactory activity that are not detected with a coupled gas chromatograph ele...

Selectivity tuning in chiral dual column gas chromatography.

The enantioselective tuning of two columns coupled in series is investigated in chiral high-resolution gas chromatography. Two columns with opposite enantioselectivities (Chirasil-L-Val and Chirasil-D-Val) are coupled in series via a T connector, and the relative retention of enantiomers chromatographed on the system is changed by varying the individual carrier gas flow rates in the coupled col...

Factors affecting selection of mobile phase in gas Chromatography

Selection of mobile phases markedly affect separation efficiency of eluted probes in gas chromatography (GC), the mobile phases have a pronounced effect on the retention times and efficiency of natural gas separation. In solid chromatography, carrier gases which are adsorbed to any extent occupy more active adsorption sites, reducing the net heat of adsorption of the eluted zone. The efficiency...
